A Pirate's Life for Me

So apparently getting professional pictures of your kids isn't fun anymore once you have four. Someone could have told me. Here is the best one:

Okay it's actually, THE ONLY ONE. Diana was afraid of the photographer, so she ran screaming from the room after this was taken. Oh those scary photographers... Sorry about the poor quality, I do not have a scanner, so, if you couldn't tell, I took a picture of the picture, nice, I know!.

Karilyn looks scared, Heidi isn't looking at the camera, Diana is actually looking, but Hannah has one eye open and one closed. So I declared us all to be pirates.

My attempt to take pictures myself at home went slightly better:

So anyway, back to the pirates. I had a dream two nights ago that I was on ancestry.com and I was doing research on the Yoho Family line. Well, apparently, as I discovered in my dream, the name Yoho originated because my ancestor, Johannes Michael Yoho, was a pirate.

"Yo ho, ho ho, a pirate's life for me."

But actually, he was a Joho, it became Yoho after his son immigrated to the US. Perhaps the ship, Snow Two Sisters, they came over on was actually a pirate ship, what fun! We are a bunch of pirates from Alsace-Lorraine. So I guess it would be,

"Jo ho, ho ho, a pirate's life for me."

But it's all fun and games pretending you are pirates until you find real evidence like this:

What? Ken's a pirate? My kids black out their doll's eyes with a sharpie and pretend they arrrr pirates? Well, we must be pirates then!

I'll leave you with this adorable picture of my ONE MONTH OLD! Yes, only a true pirate wouldn't blog about her birth or anything or even mention her on her blog until she's a month old. ARRR!

Love this entry! Heeeee! I like how it's all coming back to pirates. (Also, I am terrified of that Ken doll.) The pictures that you took in the yard actually turned out super cute--and I looooove Hannah's hedgehog shirt.

So funny story about E being scared of someone, at VBS this week they have a special bird character for the wee kids who comes and dances with the toddlers during the songs. Her costume is less elaborate, so it's supposed to be less scary, but Emmett is terrified of her. She was dancing like three feet from us, and every time she smiled at him, he clung even tighter to me. So I don't blame Diana--those big cameras and all those lights on the front of some person's face? I think she's got the right idea. ;-)

This is hilarious! Ha! I think I told you when we were at the water park that I thought Hannah was kind of pirate-ish, what with her one eye open and all. She must do that a lot.

The Barbie & Ken look like they might possibly reside here. Also, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Remember you placing marks (chicken pox, etc) on your Cabbage Patch doll?

I love the photos of the four of them together. Even though the professional one isn't quite what you had in mind, after some time passes, you'll love it because it truly captures the moment in time!

Post pics of your new sewing studio soon! :)
