Tonight we took Karilyn and Heidi to a church party at the roller skating rink. I can't say what they did was actual roller skating though, it was more like roller falling. At least they had fun, isn't that what it's all about?
Oh yea, and Heidi HAD to wear her swim cap!

Dirty Laundry
I know I already posted some pictures of Heidi, but I had to add one more. I just found her in the laundry bins. She climbed up the cat's scratching post and on in. She wouldn't have been able to do that yesterday as it was full of dirty laundry.
Notice the hunting pajamas, maybe I should leave the pajamas in the dirty clothes bin and only take out Heidi.
She also dumped nail polish into the kitty litter. What two year old can twist off a hard top? It's my fault though, I told her not to jump on my nice folded clothes anymore as I was trying to get the clean clothes put away, I guess she had to go find something else to do that was "fun".
I think I'll do like my smart sister, Amy, and stop doing laundry, it only leads to trouble anyway.
Crazy Hair
Heidi woke up with some CRAZY hair today! I would like to believe that those who have to wait a long time for their kids to get hair that it would be all nice when it finally came in, well, that's just not the case.
Here in that picture you can see her infamous "deer hunting" pajamas. She gets very upset if she can not wear them EVERY night. The only way to calm her down when they are dirty is by letting her wear Karilyn's pajamas, which are huge on her.
She also LOVES talking on the phone now. This is a picture of her talking to Grandma.
And I have to love this picture, as it has never happened in our house before. Heidi got tired and climbed up in the chair and fell asleep.
And one more thing...
What does it mean when you do a wish bone and the top end completely falls off and both of you are left holding just a stick? Does it mean you have bad luck or something, or was it what you wished for that caused such a rare thing to happen? I wished for Dave to help me do some cleaning, does this mean he will never help me clean again? Or maybe it was what Dave wished for, hum, I think I'll ask him later. Are you allowed to say what you wished for even though you didn't win, or would it count as a tie and we both win, which in that case my wish is now null and void because I just told? Well, at least we had a good laugh when we both pulled and the top part flung off and went flying across the room. Well, he hasn't helped me clean yet...wait I think I hear the clanging of dishes coming from the kitchen. Maybe my wish has come true after all?
Well, regardless of what my husband may or may not be doing I'm off to do some more cleaning, someone's gotta do it and it won't get done if I don't.

An investment in my health
I always have very low hemoglobin (iron) levels, it usually measures about 11. After both births it dropped to a low 7 range. I never had a transfusion, but this is a range where most doctors will give you a transfusion. Instead I took horrible iron pills, which come with all kinds of nasty side effects.
I always try to eat a diet high in iron, but it never seems to be enough, so I thought I'd search for other options. (I'm trying to make this birth a bit more "pleasurable" than my last two.) So I found a natural iron supplement which I started taking a little over a week ago. I think by boosting my iron levels now, it won't be as inclined to drop so much after I deliver.
Since I started taking it, I haven't gotten a bad headache every day at 5:00 and I've only taken one nap! I was so tired all the time that it was hard to keep my eyes open and I was taking a nap everyday that I could when Heidi took hers. I feel like a different person, I hardly even get tired now and I've been pretty much headache free. I've even been staying up late some nights, where before I couldn't function after 8:30. I think I've been less irritable also, but you'll have to ask Dave and the girls if that's true.
Anyway, It's so good to feel so much better. The iron is really expensive though, I used my hard earned paypal money to order a supply for the rest of my pregnancy, but I think it was money well spent. I hope it's not just a placebo or that I'm now 21 weeks and I'd be feeling better anyway. Well, whatever it is, I'm going to keep taking it.

It's about time...
to post my pictures from Christmas!
Heidi loves her Calico Critter babies.
Karilyn wanted to put cookies out for Santa, I guess to feel like a "normal" kid, but she decided to eat them herself.
Karilyn's "big" gift was this covered wagon.
Heidi likes it just as much as Karilyn.
And here is the school bus:
Except for the school bus, we didn't really go overboard this year, and we got the school bus for a really good deal, as you all know. It's so easy to buy and buy! I kind of made a loose rule that I wouldn't be buying presents that had a lot of packaging. I didn't want to spent Christmas trying to get toys out of packages, and it's not good for the environment. So a lot of the toys were either second hand or "more natural" or clothes. The calico critters were the only toys that really had packaging, oh and this mermaid doll that Karilyn wanted really bad. It also helped with our budget, I kind of judged the toy by how much packaging it had. And the less packaging it had, the less likely it would have come from China, no offense Valli. lol I know that I probably won't be able to do that as much as they get older, but for now, it is a good rule for me.
Oh, but the school bus came with tons of packaging, however, the foam stuff I'm recycling into shipping material for my own use, and all the cardboard will be turned into a Wendy's when I'm having the baby by request of Karilyn. My Dad made a General Store/McDonald's with her when I was having Heidi, so she told Heidi that they would make a Wendy's this time. My dream of having a basement full of cardboard houses and stores is finally becoming a reality.
