Oh yea, it rained the whole time too! I got so cold that my finger shrunk and I had to hold my wedding ring on during the swim.
I'm the one with the orange cap.
The finish: I have the green shirt on.
After the triathlon we went to the Yankee Peddler. Last year Karilyn called it the Yankee Pebble, so I can't resist still calling it that even though she corrected me this year. Lucky for us Dave's mom usually gets us free tickets!
We were especially excited to go this year so Karilyn could see the old covered wagons. We are reading Laura Ingalls Wilder's books and I thought this would be a great experience for her. She was pretty interested.
Then there was a magician preforming and Karilyn really wanted to be picked to be a volunteer the first time we saw the show, but she didn't get picked. So we attended a second show and the magician STILL didn't pick her. She was so upset. Yes the same magician both times!
So then we went to the children's show (The Little Red Hen) and guess who got to be picked to play the part of one of the apples. It was kind of funny because they didn't want anyone to be left out so they let all the kids come up even though they only need 4 apples.
They had 4 apples because they had to solve the question, if you have 4 apples and someone eats one, how many apples will you have. Well, the dog scooped up Karilyn and pretended to eat her. She was freaked out a little. I guess being an apple isn't all it's cracked up to be. She was still pretty proud of herself.

Hilarious apple story! I wish we could have gone to the pebble with you. Sounds fun! (Don't tell Karilyn I called it the pebble.)
Congratulations on your triathlon. (I would just like to say that I don't like that word and am not real sure how to spell it. I'm sure Valli will correct me if I'm wrong. :) )
I think you're ALL maniacs for triathlon-ing. It's absurd. Something normal people should not do. Especially when there's laying around on the couch to be done.
Hugs!
I think it's quite an accomplishment to finish a triathlon (the only reason I think that's the right spelling is that blogger didn't draw a red line under it) and THEN go to the Yankee Pebble. I'm proud of you and your good time! Also love the story about Karilyn. At least she got to be an apple, although I guess it would suck to be eaten. Better than getting worms, though...
